Susie grew up in San Diego, CA and is a proud Cal Poly San Luis Obispo alum, earning her B.S. in Animal Science with a pre-veterinary concentration. After graduation, she brought her love of animals to a 24-hour small-animal emergency and critical-care hospital in Santa Rosa, CA where she became a registered veterinary technician and worked alongside a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and oncology specialist.

She now calls Pismo Beach home, where she lives with her husband, Mike—a fellow Cal Poly AG Engineering alum—their two daughters, and four adopted rescue cats: Pippin, Purrl, Poet, and Pepper. When she’s not busy with family or feline supervision, Susie's interests include soccer, hiking, biking, Rummikub, music festivals and camping, theatre, cooking family recipes, and a beach bonfire at sunset. She is also a professional photographer who loves capturing life’s meaningful moments.
