Dr. Katie Swanson is a Dairy Science Lecturer at Cal Poly. She earned her Ph.D. degree from Oregon State University which focused on ruminant nutrition and biological data sciences. She completed her M.S. and B.S. degrees at UC Davis where she also spent time working as a postdoctoral scholar. She was recognized by the American Registry for Professional Animal Scientists for her work in utilizing by-products for cattle feed. Her research experience spans the fields of ruminant nutrition, miRNA and transcriptome analysis, forage quality, byproduct feed utilization, and fiber digestibility. Katie is always excited to talk about cows and nutrition!
