Irini Pateras joined Cal Poly's Animal Science department in January of 2023 as the Oppenheimer Family Equine Center Manager. She was born and raised in California and graduated from Cal Poly's Animal Science program in 2018. After graduation she spent time at Colorado State’s Equine Reproduction Lab as a Breeding Farm Intern. She then moved to Guthrie, Texas to collect stallions for Dr. Blodgett at the prestigious Four Sixes Ranch. She most recently managed the foaling and breeding of mares for Beechfork Ranch in Weatherford, Texas before returning to Cal Poly. She has enjoyed taking the skills she learned in the Animal Science Program out into the industry and is excited to bring back her experiences to the same program that taught her.
