Claire Moreno grew up in California’s Central Valley, where her interest in agriculture first took root during high school. Her involvement in FFA inspired her to pursue a degree in Animal Science at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

While at Cal Poly, Claire began working at the Meat Processing Center, an experience that sparked her passion for the meat industry. After graduating, she launched her professional career in 2023 as a Kill Floor Supervisor at Central Valley Meat Co. in Hanford, CA, where she managed a team of 50 employees in the Offal department. In 2024, she transitioned to the Quality Assurance team at Western Milling in Goshen, CA, gaining valuable experience in animal food safety and quality systems.

Claire is deeply passionate about meat science and excited to share that enthusiasm with Animal Science students. She strives to create a welcoming and respectful environment where students feel encouraged to step out of their comfort zones and explore new opportunities.
