A lifelong horse person, Yuhas-Volk came to Cal Poly in 2016 with a unique combination of experience in many aspects of the equine industry: training and showing performance horses; herd and broodmare/foaling management; and equine veterinary medicine.  She managed the Cal Poly Equine Center until the fall of 2019, when she moved into teaching full time.

 

Yuhas-Volk earned a bachelor's degree in animal science with a production / management emphasis and a minor in agricultural business from California State University, Fresno. She is a Registered Veterinary Technician, licensed by the California Veterinary Medical Board.

 

Yuhas-Volk is very passionate about teaching the next generation of equine professionals and strives to create a positive, enjoyable and safe “Learn by Doing” environment for both students and horses to thrive.
