Professional History & Interests:
Dr. Jaymie Noland is a Professor and Department Head of the Animal Science Department, Cal Poly State University, San Luis Obispo. She received a Bachelors of Science in Animal Science from Colorado State University in 1981, and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the same institution in 1987.
Dr. Noland stepped into the role of Department Head in 2014 after 15 years as a professor, and continues teaching in the department along with her administrative duties. As of July 1, 2015, the Animal Science program and the Dairy Science program have merged under her leadership. Under the Governor’s appointment, she is currently serving as President of the California Veterinary Medical Board within the Department of Consumer Affairs.
Professional Memberships include the American Veterinary Medical Association, California Veterinary Medical Association, Mid-Coast Veterinary Medical Association, American Association of Equine Practitioners, American Association of Meat Processors, American Meat Science Association, California Grain and Feed Association, National Cattlemen's Beef Association, California Cattlemen’s Association, Poultry Science Association, Society for Range Management, American Holistic veterinary Medical Association, American Society of Animal Scientists, American Dairy Science Association, and the Golden Key National Honor Society.
