Robert Spiller is a Poultry Specialist in the Animal Science Department. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Cal Poly and his doctorate in poultry nutrition at Oregon State University. Spiller is now a Professor Emeritus, having retired from his full-time position in June, 2016. He is now a part-time professor who teaches many of the poultry science courses. He works closely with the commercial poultry industry in California, as well as providing consulting services to the industry including cage free egg production. His consulting spans from production, nutrition and bird health to processing and egg distribution.
Professional memberships include the Pacific Egg and Poultry Association. Dr. Spiller has served as a member of the Board of Directors for nine years and has been involved with the Student Advisory Committee and Research Evaluation Committee.
