Demolition of the Bull Test
facility and Feed Lot began on Jan. 2, 2006. The original sites are
now covered with several feet of soil thanks to the work of
earthmovers and bulldozers who are literally moving mountains and
filling in valleys.
"Feed Mill Road" is about to become
a memory. In order for demolition preparations to get started, the
remaining facilities were vacated on April 30.
Extra equipment from the Feed Mill,
Abattoir, and Farrier Building was sold at a successful surplus
sale.
In mid-June demolition crews to
began dismantling these structures. Then the earth
moving equipment will transform the area too.
The Animal Science Department is
quite fortunate to have retired professor Jim Flanagan photographing
the demolition of former facilities and the construction of new
facilities. Be sure to check the Animal Science Web site and Stock
Report issues for pictures and updates.
