The animal science department offers one course covering sheep and the sheep industry. All students are required to take ASCI 223, systems of sheep management, as part of the animal science curriculum. ASCI 223 provides students with a background of the role of sheep in world agriculture and the methods of national and international sheep operations. In addition to the sheep production course, the department also offers ASCI 329, principles of range management. This course allows students to gain a better understanding of grazing animals as tools for harvesting energy and improving rangeland quality.
